The VV-III (Victrola 3) was Victor's lowest-priced phonograph in the Canadian market in the late 1920's. It is virtually identical to the long-runnning VV-IV model.  Interestingly, the VV-IV model was sold both in the USA and Canada up until the middle of 1926; therefore it is highly probable that the VV-III was sold in Canada after the IV had been discontinued in the US. The VV-III may have used left-over parts and cabinets from the discontinued VV-IV series.
The VV-III featured a simple single-spring motor and Exhibition Soundbox.  Only a few VV-III's have surfaced, and no information is currently available as to total production volumes or retail list prices.
Readers should not confuse this model with V-III or VV-VIII phonographs.
